YouthCentral
youthcentral is the Victorian Government’s online initiative for young people aged 12 to 25. youthcentral is a one-stop-shop for young people wanting information about jobs and careers, workplace rights, services and events in their local area, studying, travel, money and more.
It also provides employment and participation opportunities that link Government, young people and their communities. youthcentral makes government and its services more accessible to young people online in their own communities. It is also evolving into a web meeting place for young Victorians across the State.
34 young people are involved in the site as editorial team members, roving reporters and members of the production team developing, contributing to and creating content for the site. Across the State, 12 young local editors manage information about events and activities in their region.
Developed as a joint partnership between the Victorian Government's Employment Programs and Office for Youth, the site is consistently rated as the most popular state government youth website in Australia.
