What’s OFY's role?
The Office for Youth (OFY) supports the work of the RYANs through various activities. These may include:
- leading, introducing and supporting discussion on policy issues
- presenting issues for discussion and debate at meetings
- representing the Victorian Government and presenting information on new programs and initiatives
- organising meetings
- recording and distributing minutes of meetings
- drafting reports and
- facilitating information exchange between RYANs, the Office for Youth and other government agencies.
OFY also reports on behalf of RYANs to the Minister for Sport, Recreation and Youth Affairs. RYANs may provide advice to us as issues of regional concern arise.
For more information about RYANs and their role read the RYAN Guidelines (PDF 1832 kb).
