Grants and programs

The Office for Youth administers a range of programs that focus on building young people’s skills and confidence, developing their connections within their local communities and encouraging their participation in and contribution to community life. There are also a number of grants available through the Office for Youth and other areas of the State Government, the Federal Government and philanthropic organisations.

Grants@DPCD

Grants@DPCD has useful information about where to find grants that are available through DPCD. Advance

Advance is a school-based program that gives secondary students opportunities to contribute to their community. Students work in partnership with community organisations on projects and activities of their choice. Funding is available to all Victorian Government secondary school campuses to deliver Advance. FReeZA

FReeZA is a program that supports young Victorians to get involved in community life by planning and running drug and alcohol-free music and cultural events for other young people. The program also provides opportunities for young artists to perform to audiences of peers in their local communities. Grants are available to local government and community organisations to support committees of young people aged 12 to 25 to run local events. Learn more about FReeZA.


FReeZACentral

FReeZACentral is a program that supports young people aged 15 to 25 to learn more about career opportunities within the music industry. The program offers accredited industry training and experience in all aspects of the music industry and includes workshops, mentoring and an annual Victorian music tour organised by young people. Mentoring and Capacity Building

Mentoring and Capacity Building aims to develop and improve mentoring programs for young Victorians. Under this initiative the State Government will provide funding for mentoring programs for young people who are disengaged from education, training or employment. National Youth Week

National Youth Week is an annual celebration of young people held across Australia. Funded by the Office for Youth and new window icon VicHealth, the National Youth Week grants support events and programs that are planned and organised by young people, for young people, across Victoria. Positive Body Image

The Positive Body Image strategy is based on clear feedback from young people from the Victorian Government Parliamentary Inquiry into body image. The strategy includes community awareness, education and training, strategic partnerships and the positive body image grants that aim to foster health and wellbeing programs across the state.


Youth Foundations Victoria

Youth Foundations Victoria (YFV) is an exciting new initiative to help young people make a real difference to their communities. YFV offers genuine opportunities for young people in 15 communities across Victoria to get involved. Find out more about Youth Foundations Victoria.


Youth Participation and Access

The Youth Participation and Access program provides grants to help and support young people aged 12-25 years who face barriers to participation in community life. Grants are available to a range of community and local government organisations to deliver services such as information and referral, skills building and mediation.
